  1. Hello, I have a Panasonic DVD recorder DMRE75VEBS.

Although it seems to be a good bit of kit, I have just found out that when I record onto Disc I am unable to play it on other standalones.

Is this a standard feature or just this machine ?

I found this out by copying a prgram from Sky Plus onto a DVD for the In laws, and sure enough no playback. So tried it on my other players and still no luck.

Is there a way of overcoming this ??

    Thanks in advance

Make sure the formats are compatible (+R/-R) and that the disk is finalised.

Make all your edit changes before you finalize, otherwise you are stuck with the default names of programs. Also, if you are using DVD-RAM, very few players are compatible.

  5. I have just re-read my original post. I am not sure if it will make any difference to your answers, but to make it clear, my Panasonic recorder is a stand alone machine, not part of any PC.

    Thanks
