I have been using #1 video converter to convert my files from other formats to mepg2 (NTSC). I have been able to convert files(so it says) to mepg 2 and putting them on DVD. However when I try to play them in my DVD player (Sony DVP-NS775V) they will not play. Sometimes I get a message that says "disk is dirty" other times nothing happens at all. I have been able to get some DVD's to play that I have converted. I tired using G-spot to see what the files say. The video and audio paths say mpeg 2. The video scr type is mpeg2 and the audio src is mepg1 audio payload. Can anyone tell me what i'm doing wrong or I need to do to get them all to play?![]()

Most likely it is the Sony. Some older Sonys didn't even play CD-R's.

This is a new a new model. I just bought it about 3 weeks ago. It is suppose to play almost all formats except Divx and xvid. Is there something else that anyone can think of that might be causing the problem? Also, even though I am looking at Gspot I really do not understand what the information is suppose to be telling me. What is rendering suppose to do?

I put the mpeg2 files on dvd using NeroVision express. I let it determine the burn speed. Should I be using something else in Nero to burn them on dvd?

Well I converted the file using a program called #1Video Converter. I then use NeroVision express to burn onto dvd.

No, no, you convert them with #1Video Converter to mpeg2 (.mpg) files. But before to be burnt onto DVD disc the files must be authored to .vob and .ifo and .bup files with an authoring application.

I thought that the "all in one converter" i.e. #1 Video converter converts them to mpeg 2 NTSC which meant that I could just add menus and chapters if I chose to and then burn them to dvd so that they would play in my stand alone dvd player.
I assume you mean just make them to mpeg2 and then use Nero Burning Rom before I burn them to dvd? -
I also think that I have figured out a reason that I have been able to burn a few (3 or 4) that will paly. I was reading an article this even on one of the forums about the types of media. I am using memorex dvd+R. I was able too discern ( according ti the article) that they are cm or cmc which might explain why some burns were ok and others were not. I probably have a whole bunch of coasters

Adding menu and chapters means authoring. I see you did it in Nero Vision Express. I said already that I would use another application that allow me to add menu and chapters and so on. Read my previous posts.
