  1. Ok I have some questions.

Right now I use the cheapeset media I can buy in spindles of 100. I have heard alot about cheaper media not lasting long over time. I'm worried about this because the stuff I burn needs to be archived to last basicly forever. I burn in large quantities (that's why I buy by the 100s).

To make sure my DVD worked after I burn it I rip it back to the computer with DVD Decrypter and if there are no read errors I assume that disc is fine. Am I Right?

If I check it an the discs and it is fine is there anyway that the disc will corrupt over time?

How do I know which media is best to buy or does it really matter as far as long term data storage (burn reliablity really isn't a big factor since my burner generally works well with everything)? I don't like labels on the disc I like them to be plain silver so i look for that when buying. Can someone help?

  2. Most cheaper media will lost data after several months (about 6 more). Also some don't play back. So choose best media for archived is necessary.
