time problem

i use the program to convert to dvd file video
then use toast to burn but i am not geting the
end of the films on teh dvd why?
and how can i make sure the end is put on

Which format is your source file and which preset are you using to convert?

mpg - dvd ffmpeg

plus how would i remove the beginning and stuff which isnt wanted

Are you using the "Decode with quicktime" option?
To remove parts of the video you can try MPEG Streamclip.
