I am trying to capture a VHS tape to an avi file. I have SIMA SCC-2 which I have not used that much yet. I connected SIMA as following.
VCR --> Composite --> SIMA SCC-2 --> S-video --> Digital Camera --> IE1394 - PC.
It looks like the video has Microvision, because I can see the brightness go up and down. Not as much as it would be without SIMA but noticeable.
See the video here: www.v-t-d.com/jkl/jkl.htm
QuickTime required. Notice during viewing the brightness slightly goes up and down.
The tape was created at Digital Jungle post production house. I wonder why they copied it with Microvision.
Is this how SIMA works. It tries to remove Microvision, but it does not remove it completely.
Thanks for your help.
