    Hi all.

I was given a box of old 8mm (?) movie reels. These were taking with a small movie camera back in the early seventies. They are old home movies, and I have been asked to eventually convert them to DVD.

Can someone recommend a way to convert these movies to VHS so I can then convert them to DVD? I have a VERY SMALL budget to do this, so I need low tech (or cheap tech).

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    rudnicke

A friend of mine played his old video on a projector and set up his digital camcorder on a tripod to record it. Then dubbed in music, which covered up the projector noise. I'm not saying this is the greatest way, but I don't know if they make equipment to link to that old technology. It really didn't look that bad.

Check this link. The advice seems to be pretty good.
