These media have the same codes as the premium TY media. The reseller knows they are not Premium because they are tape wrapped and they are labeled "value". They are passing the savings on to us. As they are always sold as 4X (so far), a discontinued media, this opportunity should not last forever. I have no knowledge of how TY decides this is less than Premium grade. As some of this is G02, normally speed rated at 8X, it is possible TY could do this again if they wanted to as the G02 is currently produced.

It would be first hand experience if you tested the media yourself and came on here and posted. But this guy's company tested it, then he told you, now you are telling us. Definitely not first hand experience.
My definition differs from yours; I used the legal difinition of first hand. As I have spoken DIRECTLY to the person who stated these facts, when I pass on to you what he said, it is first hand. I was not arresting to the underlying accuracy of what he said only to the statements he made and my opinion of his veracity. As I said before, pay it no attention if you want. I am not out to prove anything I am only passing on information I heard directly.

    "First-Hand Knowledge
Information or knowledge heard and/or seen directly by the person speaking or writing. Generally, all information given to the court to prove a case must be first-hand knowledge."

I dont understand. I have changed nothing. Still using my Plextor 708A FW 1.08 as I have been for months. I can put in a TY from Rima either 4X or 8X disc and these rings do not appear. So as for HW/SW problems I dont get it.(?)
I admit to a lack of knowledge of the technical aspects of the process but when everything is the same except a different batch of discs I cant help but think the discs are not quite up to standard. Hey, I dont know except for what I see with my experience. I wish it was some HW/SW issue. That way it could possibly be corrected. As of now I'm reluctant to archive anything on these discs. Bummer!

  4. I've had many more of these discs burn at 4X, G02s and G01s, even though it's set at 8X. They start at 4X, then usually go up to 6X, not always but usually, then when they try to go to 8X they drop back to 4X. 300+ Fuji TYs that's never happened.
