  1. I have a DVD which has only a single stereo audio track. One side is English, the other is Japanese. I've demuxed with VobEdit to get the ac3 file but how can I extract the English track?

    thanks

  2. There are certain to be other ways but this is my first though.

Convert to PCM (uncompressed wav) using HeadAc3he.
Open wav file in any decent audio editor (my choice is GoldWave)
Delet unwanted channel, save remaining channel as mono PCM wav.

What do you finally want to do with this, other steps will depend on that.

Yes, I didn't make it clear did I. I want to put the English audio back into the mix and end up with a dvd with only an English mono audio track.

Well, in that case, you should be able to use the output mono wav file as the audio for the DVD. Or you may want to re-encode it to mp2 or Ac3 to save space. Plenty of guides on how to do either.
