What did you think of Chis Rock at the Oscars?

You know, I only liked Chris Rock as Pookie in New Jack City. Well, I guess he was ok in Lethal Weapon 4 and Dogma too. But I think his comedy is just way over hyped. I hear him on all comedy radio a lot I just don't think he's that funny of a guy. The last thing I heard him say that I just didn't get was "You know, abortion, it's a beautiful thing". I'm like WTF!?! He bores me with his politics and I turned the channel when he got into it again the other night (but the wife turned it back). Oh, and she didn't like him either. Robin Williams and the Johnny Carson bit were the only things to make me laugh.

The Oscars are Billy Crystal's show. He IS the host. No one can replace him. Chris does not have the "inside" scoop on the Academy to hit the good insider laughs. Dont know why Billy wasnt there but if he was not asked something is not right. I like Chris as a stand-up comedian but he's not ready for the big time host position...just not his style and again, no one does it better than Billy Crystal. He personally knows everyone there and can make us laugh by pushing his comedy to the limit....because he knows the audience and knows how far he can go. And he just fits that type of occasion.
2 million less viewers this yr. Get Billy back will be the cry of the producers next yr.

I'm always amazed by Americas amazing indifference to it's Comedic output, Chris Rock being one of many, as you produce the finest comedians I've ever seen.

I've not seen the Oscars, but I have watched Rock host some shitty music awards show and how he took the piss out of the show was brilliant.

Maybe its a brit thing but his jibes about Jude Law seemed funny to me.
