  1. I've installed the DIvx 4.11 codec. When I try to open a Divx movie in TMPgenc it tells me that this is an unknown video type?!!

I run WinXP by the way. Does anybody know how I can make the program see that this is a Divx or where the codec is installed?

  2. well,
maybe it is a Movie which is encoded with the DivX3.11 or s.th. else!
The newer 4.** ones, have probs with these files!
Install the 3.11 over the 4.11 again, it should work. (4.11 files are played with the 4.11 codec and 3.11 are played with the 3.11)

  3. Also sometimes the divx codec will rename all your divx movies so they have a .divx extension, change this back to avi and all should be well.

  4. There is one simple thing you have to do.

Go to Options, Env.settings, VFAPI plug-in.
Increase the priority of 'AVI VFW compatibility Reader'.
Now you should be able to read divX.
