I'm using ATI MMC for capturing TV and every time PC goes to screensaver and back (via ctrl-alt-del) capturing starts over again overwriting the previous capture file. In other words I loose all my capture prior to the moment I return from the screen-saver.
I don't know how to disable this 'feature'. Does anyone know??
I've just noticed that screen saver has nothing to do with it, it is the ctrl-alt-del. Pressing ctrl-alt-del brings Windows 2000 default task manager screen and returning from it interrupts capturing

This is the only way to re-enter Windows from a screen saver. Look, it is simple - I'm recording for hours and PC goes to a screen saver. To re-enter I press ctrl-alt-del, which is a standard key combination, it logs-in to the Windows and, oopsss, capturing is interrupted, thanks to some wise guys at ATI
Of course, I could have disabled the screen saver, but this is a workaround that I would not want to use for certain reasons -
Well anyone will tell you,That you should turn off the Screen Saver while you Capture , if you dont want to hear the Capture turn off the monitor and Mute the sound. This is about All I can sugest.
If it was a Hardware capture Card then fine run the Screen Saver,But ATI cards are Software and Hardware capture cards,Best not to have anything other then the Capture software running,When you capture. -
This guy is kidding right? Running a screen saver and doing video work. Utter nonsense.

Go to Windows display setting and uncheck screen saver

This guy is not kidding. The question was not how to not involve screen saver but how to make ATI MMC not to react on CTRL-ALT-DEL (even without a screen saver, just press CTRL-ALT-DEL, respond 'NO' to logoff Windows prompt and right away ATI MMC overwrites the recording) which it is supposed to do in the first place.Originally Posted by jdizzy40
Well, it looks like an ATI bug.. -
Set it to ask user what to name file, when recording is finished, not"AUTO NAME" maybe that will help.
