Whenever I capture video it is very dark. The picture on my viewfinder on the camera is just fine but the captured video is VERY dark. Can somebody please help me with why this is happening?

I was unaware that there was a brightness setting for capturing. That definately helps. I use WinDV to caputre raw DV .avi. Are you aware of a brightness setting in there because I have come across this problem with multiple caputure programs. Thanks for your help on this.

What "capture program"? Didn't he say he captured the video with a camera?

Or do you mean his file transfer app?

  5. Heh. The way he worded it, "picture on my viewfinder on the camera is just fine but the captured video is VERY dark", I assumed by "captured video" he meant the video saved on the computer.

A properly captured NTSC source will look dark on a computer monitor. Burn it to a DVD and evaluate it on a tv.

If you adjust it to look good on the computer monitor, it will be washed out and bright on the TV.
