I have PowerDVD installed and can play Mpeg2 in Media player. I can't seem to get them to work in Powerpoint (2000)...It just shows a black screen and doesn't really do anything when you push play...or would a newer version of PP do it?
Or do I have to convert to MPEG1? or AVI
    Thanks in advance

    Hi bhbuckeye!
You can convert your ppt file into avi using this program:

Do you mean that you are putting an MPEG-2 file inside your Powerpoint presentation and are trying to get it to play "inside" the presentation ?

    That's how I read it anyway ...

    MPEG-1 should definitely work.
    If in doubt, Google it.

I think your OS is XP, on win2000/xp system, the merit value of MPEG2 Splitter is lower than MPEG2 Demultiplex, that is the main reason of why mpeg-2 cann't play back perfectly.
Here is a document and give a method to fix it.
