They sell those markers they say are ok to use to write on your DVD-r discs but are they really?

There are at least 15 threads on this. The readers digest answer is a resounding yes. The other consensus in general is no labels.
Added- For dvds a general purpose sharpie is OK. For cds an alcohol free marker is suggested, but I personally use a general purpose marker.A good divorce beats a bad marriage.
Now I have two anniversaries I celebrate!
