Sweet. I thought you were out in the back of beyond. To be honest I have no use for 1mb, 512 is more than enough for me, but if they're giving it away for free . . . . 8)Originally Posted by rhegedus

what's the fastest speed you can get privately in the UK?

I know of one service offering 8Mbs, outside 'peak' hours. I think it was from about 8Pm to 8am. 1Mb otherwise. Limited availability though, mostly London Area exchanges.Originally Posted by MackemX

Just upgraded my NTL 750k for free to 2meg. Supposedly its capped to 1 gig a day, but then so was the 750k and I never hit any limits before. Hopefully the same will be true with the faster speeds.

Any pipex customers tried to upgrade yet ? I've paid my £15 but they haven't turned it up yet or even emailed me !

Isn't NTL cable upload limited to 15KB/s?
My mum has a 750k connection but is lucky to get anything like 40KB/s download speed

I am on the NTL 3Mb service, I can max it out sometimes depending on the server at the other end. My upload speed is 256Kb I believe.Originally Posted by rhegedusThere are 10 kinds of people in this world. Those that understand binary...

it looks like I can get 2MB's now yet I'm still paying £23.44 for 512K
. I think it's about time I stopped being lazy and looked around for a better alternative

If my U/L goes over 10K the D/L gets hosed. on quick servers i see 80-90KB/S D/L these days.Originally Posted by rhegedus
