Using "capture" PowerDirector it failed to initialized at 70% and crashed
Cyberlink said it should work with all WDM card and suggested to uninstall
all editing software and reinstall PDwhich I did and it still crashed
Medion service said it should work after updating the driver which I did and it still didnot work and crashed

    Hi Rudy,

i have the same Problem (it's also with Powerdirector3). I did update the driver for the Medion cad, with no succes. I ask the medion support, they said that's not our problem, we sell the Computer (MD 8008) with power director2, and it works.

I ask the cyberlink support because i like to update my powerdirector2 to version 4. They said, look at the list of supported cards. We dit not support cards with the 7134 Chip set. I say, at your website you say we support all cards with WDM Driver. And, now i'm still waiting for the answer of this - I'm waiting for two months now!!! But they send me an offer for my update with a lower price???
I hope any other user can help us.

    Kasimir

    Hi,
I'm a little late on this. Ran across your posts. I too have medion 8084 with Philips 7133 chip set. All I can say is get rid of Cyberlinks crap. Try Chris TV and capture in AVI with HufYuv. Then use another program to encode to DVD.

    Kasimir,

How good are the caps? The caps from the Power Director that came with my Medion 8084MD were very bad.

    Hi,

i think the caps from Power Director 5 are nice. My Medion 8008MD came with Power Director 2.5, and with this version the caps have lots of A/V sync problems. The only thing i'm missing with PD5 is a list with the names of the stored TV-Chanels.
