    Hi there,

I too tried the trial version and liked it enough to pick it up at Best buy for $59. I got the Disc Creator 3.0 edition.

The program is very sloooow to encode video. I think that the last thing that I did was a 30 minute home movie clip, that took nearly 2 hours to completely render (OK maybe closer to an hour and a half).

Still though, for what I want to do (And not wanting to learn other dvd authoring programs), I do like this program. The program is very easy to use, and I've never had a problem with the disks not playing in any of the grand-parents dvd players.

Keep in mind that I only paid $59 bucks for my copy, I might be grumpier if I had paid the full $100 for it. Take a look at your local best buy or circuit city (if you have any of these nearby). I was at both today and still saw this program for only $69 in both stores, no rebates, just regular pricing.

  5. Best practice is to encode before authoring, ulead uses the MC encoder, the stand alone encoder is very Fast,Not sure about the one in Ulead,But for 30 min video taking 1 and half hours, somthing is not right there. Ulead makes very good DVD programs, Movie Factory is very limited and cut down, you can get this free with some burners,I use Ulead DVD Workshop alot ,very nice program.
