I just bought a Linksys wireless router and I am having weird troubles with it. This happens both wirelessly and wired, with my laptop running XP SP2 I cannot connect to the internet for more than 5-10 mins a day. It works at first and then I keep getting timeouts. I am still connected, I can ping and receive the pings back, I can use AIM, check email and so on. Just the internet fails.
My PC is also connected to it through ethernet cable and it works perfectly with it. This is getting weird, it works fine surfing the net at school wirelessly. Just not here.
Is there anyway Windows XP and this thing are just not getting along over the web? Can I change the ports in mozilla and IE to try a different one? This is my first dealing with a router so I am a bit confused about it.
Thank you guys, you have been VERY helpful to me in the recent weeks![]()

I found the answer, the VPN client that the school requires us to run to access their network somehow was blocking my own http access on MY network. I simply turned on the VPN client and *bang* ir worked.
This is so whacked out.
But I am so bookmarking this thread because I get the feeling me and this router are gonna have more troubles with each other. LOL
