Hi, I have been researching the Pioneer HTD-540DV for quite some time now. I want it for a bedroom setup (pretty small room) and would mainly be using it for it's DVD-A and SACD features. It fits my budget and seems to have some pretty cool features. Can anyone give me some feedback on it's performance, especially the audio aspect?
Thanks.
P.S I know you were about to say HTiB's aren't normally geared to having the greatest audio but I can't afford to put together a component system right now so this is the best i've come up with so far.

After two months of painstaking research, the Pioneer HTD-540DV is the best integrated system you can buy! It plays everything except WMA, but who needs that being that it plays MP3s! Also, unlike other systems, the speakers are actually made of speaker, and not extra cosmetics just for good looks, although they do look pretty damn good nevertheless. If I was to research separate components, it might take me a few years between the research and expanding my wallet. I say look no further! It plays every store-bought media on the plannet--CD, DVD, DVD-Audio, and SACD! It even plays CDR/RW and DVDR/RW for those who like burning their own stuff. Now for some small complaints, which shouldn't stop many of you from buying this HTIB. It doesn't support the upcoming HDDVDs yet, but it more than likely will be quite some time before that should be a concern. So far, I haven't been able to find a hack for this system that would either allow you to manually change regions or unlock it completely. So if you are interested in foreign DVD-Videos, you might have a problem as far as that goes. Overall, I'm surprised that Pioneer hasn't gotten sued because this HTIB does more than those by other brands! I'd say you made the ONE-AND-ONLY decision! Stick by it and dig out that wallet. Best regards!

Thanks for the feedback. Just one question though, do you own this player or is this knowledge from prevoius research? If you do own it, how is the audio quality?
I'll have to agree with you that this does sound like a sweet deal and I am most likely going to purchase it. -
I have owned this HTIB since Thanksgiving Eve and hooked it up the day after Thanksgiving Day. Audio and video are up to Broadway, Carnagee(Sp?) Hall, the Metropolitan Opera House, Hollywood, Etc. I got mine at OneCall because out of all the authorized Pioneer dealers, their price on the system is the lowest, brand new, right out of the box! Even with the required Fed Ex three-day shipping minimum, it is still the lowest price out there! Please check out my review at Amazon.com on this system so you have an even greater understanding of why this system is the best HTIB out there. All it's missing is a TV--LOL!
