I got a VGA to RCA cable. It's just a cable, no box or anything. I tried hooking it up to my tv, but it didn't work. I am assuming the resolution on my computer is far to high for my tv. If that's the case, what good is the cable? If that's not right, how do I get my computer to show up on my tv?

Does the cable have 3 RCA connectors? If so it will only work with projectors. If not you might try setting the monitor res. to 640x480 and 60Hz.

You need a device called a VGA to TV scan converter. A simple cable isn't going to do anything.

What makes you think it's a VGA cable?
It's probably a proprietary cable the Matrox Millennium G450 / G550.
