Frameserving and Visual Quality with Nero Recode and Other Software
Now that we’re up to speed on frameserving from Vegas to Nero Recode let’s have an in-depth look at the visual quality, and encoding and playback performance of MPEG-4 video encoded in Nero Recode and played back using Nero Showtime 2. I’ve also put together some limited comparisons of MPEG-4, WMV and MPEG-2. Please keep in mind that these comparisons are not comprehensive by any stretch of the imagination. They are intended to spur further experimentation on your part and to help get you pointed in the right direction when choosing a compression format. I’ve attempted to write Part II in a lab report format in order to avoid drawing unfounded conclusions. That doesn’t mean I won’t stick my neck out from time to time, but I will try to support my findings with the data presented in this report."Each problem that I solved became a rule which served afterwards to solve other problems." - Rene Descartes (1596-1650)
