Hello everyone,
I've successfully done dvd "copy on the fly" at 4x with no problems and I'm just wondering if anyone has successfully done at higher speeds such as 6x or 8x? If you have, please tell us your configuration and what brand and model of DVD-ROM or BURNER you are using. Also what is the total approximate time it takes for a complete burn of 4gb dvd.
Here's mine that's allowed me to copy on the fly at 4x, avg burning time on 4gb dvd is around 13-14 min:
I'm using lite-on SOHD-16P9S DVD-ROM and NEC ND-2510A DVD-RW burner.
Both are on the Secondary IDE Channel with DVD-ROM being master.
"DMA on" for both drives.
thanks
just a newbie

Sure can.
Pioneer 109 on secondary motherboard IDE.
BTC 1108 as reader on PCI Promise card.
8x on the fly, works great with true 8x media.
Using RecordNow Max 4.5 with 109 driver hacks (thanks flash!)Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)

Thanks loardsmurf, so the trick here is to have 2 drives installed in separate IDE controller.
Do you think any PCI to IDE controller card would work here? such as "Promise Ultra100 TX2"?
Also, what is the total time it usually takes for you to copy on the fly, say a 4gb DVD?
thanks -
I have the BTC on a Promise Ultra100 TX2
