  1. I wasn't very clear with my subject, let me explain.

My friend sent me a Japanse Anime DVD over the internet. When it downloaded it became a "Video_TS" folder. He told me to add it to Nero Vision Express and it would burn. It did indeed burn and played on my computer.

When I took the DVD to my TV DVd Player (SONY DVP-S5360) It said it was prohbited from playing. I tried playing it on a cheapo JWin and it played just fine.

How can I Edit the Video_TS files so that it'll be region unlocked.

Oh and have some mercy regarding the legality of this post. I'm not "advocating Piracy". I just wanna know If this can be done.

My friend says to burn the movie on DVD and then use DVD Shrink to remove the region lock. Is there a better way than this?

    Thanks for all your help.

You don't need to burn it first. Load the DVD into Shrink using Open Files, then hit backup and send to a HDD folder. You will get the region options when you hit Backup. You might also be able to do it with IFOEdit or similar.

It might also say Prohibited if it is the wrong format. Is the DVD PAL ?

  3. Thanks for your quick reply gun.

    1) How can i find out if the DVD is in PAL?
    2) I tried what you said with DVD shirink backup, then choose the option of removing the region lock. I guess I'll try it again.
    3) What would i do in IFO Edit?

Thank you again for your help, gun.

Sony + the message it gave you = I'll bet $1000.00 it's PAL.

PAL to NTSC conversion is a long, time consuming task, unless you want to capture it from the player you have that will play it to transfer it.

And the cheapo dvd player's alot of time's will convert PAL to NTSC, go figure.
