    just wondering... recently ive been ripping my albums to my computer and ive been doing them at 192kbps i sold off the originals and now im putting my music back on to a burned cd...


    my question is ripping them at 192 and than putting them back at on cd

    is this what you would call cd quality?


    i want to keep the original cd quality..

    do you know what i mean?

    You took something that was high quality (as CD original), compressed it using a butchering algorythm (MP3), then decompressed it back to CD. No. It is not CD quality. You threw that away when you used a lossy compression to store them.

    Sorry if I sound harsh, but I have never found MP3 to be even remotely CD like in it's quality.

    your ears, mp3's, imho sound terrible, it's a lossy compression, so you can't regain what was lost. I only use lossless compression such as ape, flac or wma lossless.

    There have been tests that indicate that less than 10% of people can pick the CD from the MP3 starting at about 160. Gunslinger is one of the 10. You shouldn't admit here to doing illegal stuff.

  8. Just look at the way you worded the first Post, Not much to Assume. I was just giving some friendly advice base on the wording used,Just so you wouldnt get carded. Didnt mean It to sound like a witch hunt.

    Well, I was off by a factor of 3. It is more like 30% can tell the difference. Here is the link to the test. It is quite old. I am suprised I remembered it. I suspect there would be some changes today because all of the codecs have been updated.
