  1. I have recently bought Adobe Encore 1.5 and spent hours creating a simple but useful DVD menu for some film work that I have done. On the preview the menu works fine and does everythign it should, however, when I build and burn the disc and put it into a DVD player - nothing!

Neither of the Buttons on the opening menu are highlighted or can be highlighted. I have made sure that I have a default button selected and button routing is fine. Please help me as I have wasted time and money attempting to produce a DVD and so far all my attempts have failed.

  3. Encore has a check function under <file>. It will check the structure to see if you have everything in order. Another thing to check is to see if the said DVD plays from the HD. If it works on the HD then the issue may be in the media and/or the DVD player.

For me I always write my DVD to the HD and then add a AUDIO_TS folder and burn to disc with my favorite burn software.

  4. Personally, I burn the disc right from encore and it works fine every time, BUT first I usually choose File-->make dvd folder. and have encore create a folder on the hard drive (including the videots file structure) and open that folder in my powerdve to make sure everything functions as it should. this is cheaper than wasting a dvd-r on some simple mistake on a menu. if it does play fine, then you can burn that veideo_ts folder with burning software or just create the "dvd-disc" from encore (which is what I do). If it plays fine off of hard drive and not in set top, then youve got media issue or dvd player issue. try burning at 1x. Also, be sure to check the project like the previous poster said...this is quick and easy to make sure button's are set up and there are no dead links.
