You mention Qpel under the warning. I have the Philips dvp642 and it doesn't like a file encoded with Qpel. Just a thought.

This is a generic warning from Fuse. I checked the avi info and it is not Qpel, GMC or Packed Bitstream.

  12. right before it failed it shows what failed

    1 MPEG-4 B VOP: chunk packing incorrect.

are you using more than 1 b-frame? If so how many? I think too many can cause this problem.

the message below that is generic to cover most of the things that could cause it to fail or not playback properly on hardware.

How can I check the number of b-frames?

  14. that is an excellent question

i think there is a tool called MP4modifier or something liket that, that can tell you. I think GSPOT only tells you if they are used, but not the number of them used.

    Hi again,

Can't get the info from GSpot.
    MPEG4 Modifier shows this info:

    Packed bitstream: No
    QPel: No
    GMC: No
    Interlaced: No
    Aspect ratio: Square pixels
    Quant type: H.263

    I-VOPs: 1156 (1,56%)
    P-VOPs: 28321 (38,26%)
    B-VOPs: 44553 (60,18%)
    S-VOPs: 0 (0,00%)
    N-VOPs: 0 (0,00%)

    Max consecutive B-VOPs: 2
    1 consec: 33,29%
    2 consec: 66,71%

    Are b-frames the B-VOPs?

  16. yes

and i thought it could work with a max of 2, let me double check and get back to you
