  1. I have 2 problems here:

    I created some projects with RC2 a week ago. Today I d/l-ed RC5 and
upon installing it it said to remove older versions, so I did so, both with
Win Uninstall and nuking some other folders I found.

Copied reg.xml into RC5 folder, ran it, went thru registration/activation and
it wold not use the old project files even after I edited the XML text to
    point to the new directory.

Changed the directory name back to what it was last week, still no joy.

Reinstalled RC2, leaving RC5 still installed, it said I needed the full version
to open projects. Reinstalled from a RAW directory where I keep old downloads.

    Reinstalled FULL 1.5.x, activated etc.

Now neither RC2 nor RC5 will accept a project file.

Q1/ Are there checksums or something in the S2D files that prevent me from easily just editing a directory name ?

2/ Any idea how I can run RC2 and/or RC5 whilst having them believe they are full versions ? I really want to use my .S2D projects.

    TIA, p-pa

Q1. No. But the structure of the files can change between builds. Therefore a RC2 s2d file may not be compatible with RC5.

Q2. If you want to install RC5 & RC2 i will need to give you a special build. If you are getting a "Not full version" type of message then you don't have a full version msi - you have a demo one.

Thank you CB for another quick reply.

Re your Q1 ansr., that's discouraging - I would have hoped that newer releases could at least successfully import S2D files from older releases - but not, of course, be backward compatible, i.e. it would be unfair of us to expect S2D files from newer releases could be invoked by older releases.

In this case, I am confused about the RC2 "RAW" .MSI on my hard drive, I'm sure that I had used it as a "full" copy and now, when I re-install it, it surely does install as a DEMO.

Anyway, I do need a FULL RC2 and would be grateful if you could point me to where I can download a copy or get one as an email attachment.

Q2a - Do 2 versions of RC's [ DEMO & FULL ]sometimes exist concurrently on your site and we have to be careful which one we d/l ?

    TIA, Cheers, P-PA

Well this will be the case until it goes FINAL as v2.0. Thereafter i will take due care with the s2d formats. As we are all still testing - my efforts are not focused there at the moment. Sorry. If you feel like being adventurous, you could compare the two formats and add from the RC5 version elements which are missing from the RC2 version. Very little will have changed in reality.

Well only in as far that the FULL version is in the Users Area and the Demo is on the standard downloads page. As a registered user you should always download from the User's Area.

Do you want me to email you RC2?

Nope, I found RC2 BETA [ FULL ] hiding in plain sight. Sorry. Had to uninstall RC5 to install it, but now my project of adding weekly episodes of a TV show is up and running again, my only sadness is that I cannot use RC2 whilst testing RC5 for you on the same PC.

    Thanks again, Cheers, P-AP
