  1. if i have a PAL dvd and i play it on a NTSC dvd player will it be black and white? is so can u patch PAL dvds so it has color?

    My ntsc player will play a pal disk just fine but not all of them will. You cannot patch just the colour, you must do a proper conversion which means changing the framerate and the audio duration. Check out this.

    You could try the header patch trick, which supposedly works from PAL -> NTSC or NTSC -> PAL, but generally, you are better off buying a cheap mutli-format player.

    my older Sony standalone will play PAL, but only region 0 or 1 discs
    i guess that occasionally they actually make region 0 discs in the PAL format
    my new Sony will only play NTSC discs
    instead of trying to recode/remaster/'repair' your DVD, i guess you could go blow some cash on a new DVD player.....
    from what i have been reading on these forums, trying to convert PAL > NTSC or NTSC > PAL is a total crap-shoot with less than a 50/50 chance of working
