Ok, so I have a tendency to convert my favorite shows to SVCD, so that I can watch them on the big screen.
My steps:
1. Fire up VirtualDub
2. Save off the WAV
3. Save off the AVI with no audio
4. Load both into mainconcept
5. Set it for SVCD, make sure the scaling is right for a widescreen SVCD, and let 'er rip.
But sometimes, for some unknown reason, the last few minutes of audio in the final MPG just... go away. I don't know why. The audio is fine and perfectly in sync, and then just... POOF!
The audio is still there in the WAV, it's the right length. I've tried re-encoding multiple times, but every time it drops out in the same spot.
Any ideas?

Ok, if I skip demuxing the video, and just let it work from the original XVID, it's fine. WHAT GIVES?
I've found more than one reference on the 'net to Mainconcept doing this, but not on their forums. Is this a known issue? -
If it fails at the same point each time you try, I'd suspect something odd in the audio stream that Mainconcept doesn't like. I would expect virtualdub to catch it during the strip, but you never know.
