  1. Hi everyone!

I have done several conversions from .avi files to .mpg files with TMPGenc 3.0 Xpress, so that I can burn them on VCDs. The last 2 movies that I have tried converting loose the sound once TMPGenc finishes. Can anyone please advise me on what to do...

    Thanks

Convert the audio to wav using avi2wav, goldwave or virtualdub and use the wav audio as source in tmpgenc xpress.

  3. Thanks, I will try it. Could you tell me what causes it, so that I can watch out the next time, and not spend 3 hours converting to get a audio 'free' file? To me these .avi's look exactly as the ones that I have already done a few time and never had an audio problem.

    Thank you, I appreciate it

  4. TMPGEnc is notorious for audio problems. Specially with VBR MP3 audio. You dont have to waste 3 hours to discover audio free file ! Just encode 3-4 minutes of the file and you would come to know whether audio is present or not.

Try baldrick's suggestions. It should solve your problem.

  5. Yes, thank you guys, it did solve the problem. And, Sanjayk, I will take your advise and encode for 3-4 minutes and check the file... real good idea. Thanks
