Hi,
Great piece of software, but I have one problem:
When doing a 2 Pass encode of an AVI file the resulting MPEG and DVD do not play properly either on a PC or standalone DVD player. Most of the DVD will be okay but every so often the audio will cut out followed by the picture sticking. You have to either fast forward past these points or wait for quite a while for it to struggle past it by itself.
1 Pass encoding does not have this problem, however. Have currently downgraded to RC1 as this does not have the 2 Pass option and works perfectly.
I have read through the forum and noticed similar problems on Chapter Points for some people, but on mine it seems random at no particular point.
Any ideas?

Interesting. do you get it with the mpeg or the dvd on the PC (or both). Can you send me a avi where this happens?

Hi,
This seems to happen on both the MPEG and DVD created. I have tried 4 AVI (XVID) files and it happens on all of them to varying extents. If you have any XVID files yourself it looks like any of these will encounter the problem at some point, so you could probably test on any XVID file but I am quite happy to send you one of the files that I have. What is the best way to get the file to you?
Cheers. -
Well i have been encoding xvid all weekend in an attempt to replicated this. no joy. I think you will need to upload a sample to:

Ok. I will first install RC5, I have a new file which I will test with. If that does the same thing I will upload it.
Cheers. -
Hi,
Just tested the file mentioned in my previous post and this one encoded without any problem using RC5, very strange.
Maybe a quirk with the files I used at first, 3 of which were from the same source so could be possible. The 4th one, however, was from a totally different source which is why I posted the problem in the first place.
If you still want to have a look at one of the files that was causing the problem then I will gladly send one to you, just let me know.
Many Thanks.
