  1. My problem is when i convert an avi with tmpgenc i lose the sound. i know this question has been asked many times and i have been reading the various guides and replies but none of them seem to help me. but if i missed a guide or something could someone direct me to it?

    i even reinstalled tmpgenc but there's been no change. I've tried doing what it says in the avi to wav guide by converting the sound to wav with virtualdub and then encoding with tmpgenc but, i still get no sound after it's been encoded.

    i tried just playing the wav file in my audio player (quintessential) and windows media player and the wav file worked fine. When i play the original movie file in my media player it works perfectly.

    everything was fine until a week ago. i was even able to convert the same file i'm trying to now successfully. but i deleted it.

    i deleted all my video and sound codecs and reinstalled them again but i still can't get sound when i convert with tmpgenc. so i figure my problem is most likely a codec problem but i have no idea what codec i am missing. the codecs i have installed are:

    ffdshow mpeg-44 video decoder
    divx 5.2.1
    Indeo
    AC3-ACM
    Core Vorbis
    3ivx codec 4.0.4
    XVID (Koepi)
    Ogg-acm
    Divx 3.11 alpha
    Ac3 Filter
    Oggdso995
    fraunhofer Mpeg layer-3 Audio Decompressor
    Lame 3.95
    Wm9 Codecs

    So would some be able to help me out with my problem please. any help will be greatly appreciated. thanks.

    Since you are using TMPGEnc try this. Increase the dshow plugin priority to max till it reaches the top of list. Then encode your file.

  5. As you may know Tmpgenc is no that great with Encoding Audio, Maybe just Encode the Video then, Encode your Audio with BeSweet .

    Extract the wav in virtualdub in full processing mode and then use that wav to encode with.
    I think,therefore i am a hamster.

  7. Well the thing is last week i was able to successfully convert the same avi file to a vcd but i deleted it. I've been converting the same sort of files for a year and all of them were successful.

    I've increased the dshow plugin till 4 while the others are at 0 or lower. i've tried extracting the audio and converting it into wav, then inserting it into tmpgenc but i still get no sound.

    A few days ago i deleted all my audio and video codecs and reinstalled them. But now i'm not getting audion when i convert with tmpgenc, so that's why i think i'm missing a codec but i just don't know which one.

  8. I had same problem after installing new FFDSHOW.Tried everything and decided there must be a conflict with the audio somewhere.I see you have lame mp3 and ac3 as I did .What I did was uninstall FFDSHOW and when I reinstalled I unchecked mp3 under audio codecs as I was installing again.It gives you optons to use for video and audio.I dont have any more problems and its working great with new FFDSHOW build.

    You can go into the audio config and enable/disable anything you want. No need to re-install.

    For mp3 you can set it to disabled, libmad or mp3lib.

    Disabled = disabled.
    libmad = enabled, using libmad for decoding.
    mp3lib = enabled, using mp3lib for decoding.

    Not that hard really. Anything that is not set to disabled is enabled.

  14. I know what it all means but you still have not answered my question.If for example I have mp3 enabled what would I have to do to disable it or vice cersa?Is it in the codecs window or the audio ?Give me a step by step of what to do once I open the FFDSHOW configuration.ThankYou
