We can't run ASP.net at all and we can't run Front Page and PHP on the same server.

ASP ... IS NOT THE SAME ... as ASP.NET

What you ask can be done with simple ASP scripts.
I do it on my servers.

That's what I've been asking. I guess we'll never know what type of setup he has (scripting/language support).

Greg12, if your tech support guys aren't going to do the work, at least they could tell you what the type of system you are running so that "you" can do it. Get on their cases! If it's your job and crucial to tech support, get to it and stop asking people on a web board to do it for you.

And I'm sure they'd take notice if you're asking random strangers to get into their server.

I will agin bager them for the information.

I was able to get the script to run finally but it returns a value of "none" for username. I want to see if I can make a page were u type in your username and it sets a cookie that automatically fills in the username on the form. This would work because ppl log into the computers w/ there domain accounts.

I will try to gather information on what services we run.

The website is on my personal school account until tech support creates a new home for it. I dont mind you prodding my account.

Btw, I asked tech support in March for an account and they are still "thinking"

For the LOGON_USER field to work properly, you need to disable Anonymous Access, otherwise all users are authenticated as the IUSR_<servername> user and the field is blank.

You gotta turn off anonymous access in IIS for it to return a username.

and that's not possible in this setup so Oh well. Date and Time is a wonderful improvement

We got a new set up

I supposidly have ASP, PHP, Front Page all on the one server now.

Now I just got to convince them to give me FTP access. They say I can do the same by using "mapdisk" but I thought you had to FTP up scripts.

I also got them to encrypt the folder so only TowsonU users can login.
