I have audio out of sync problems recording from the tuner. 6 hour recording speed for a 3 hour recording has intermittently as much as almost a second apparent delayed audio. That generally occurs after an hour or two time has elapsed. I've tried bringing firmware up to date and using different +R/W media, including the disc that came with the machine.
Any ideas?

hmm, I've noticed that on mine as well, even though I dont often record on SLP. But the last recording i made on slp, I put the chapters on every 10 minutes instead of the 5 minutes i was using and I think it helped. When I record something again on slp i'll see if i notice. BTW I havnt installed any firmware yet

I have this problem as well, just tried two different discs to no avail. I'll try the chapter length change to see if that helps.

Actually I just tried it, doesnt work really. I've had it work on some slp recordings, but it didnt work this time. Well I've also read on either this forum or another that putting no chapters will help, but I havnt tried that, and probably wont.

It's a shame really; that's the only bug I have with this player. Not enough to make me return it b/c I usually use the other speeds anyways, but it would be a nice fix to get.

slp is good for pause and recording, like I record some comedy shows on slp where I pause during commercials, and the audio is never out of synch. Its just movies I always record on EP mode so that doesnt happen

I find the video quality tolerable on SLP, so that's no issue. It seems to have a problem doing one 6-hour recording altogether however. May not show the issue if you break it up into several parts.
Problem is I have a bunch of 6 hour tapes that I'd like to archive to DVD... -
I've had it slip sync as early as about 30 minutes in, so breaking into smaller sections is not the solution.
Is the case truly that this only happens on SLP? -
I was afraid of the same thing so I checked an LP recording of a 3 hour show I did...everything was fine, even at the end of the recording.
I should add that my lip sync issue on SLP was using the AV Inputs rather than the tuner directly. Using the tuner may result in better performance. -
Recording at 4 hours instead of 6 has never had an out of sync audio in many recordings now.
Not only that, but the 4 hour recordings play on my JVC combo VCR/DVD player, where the 6 hour recordings would not play.
Now the only "problem" is to remember to erase the disc each time in order to record the 3 hours per day that I want. 6 hour recording gave a day "grace" for forgetting. -
Funny, Mine works great!
Do you guys work for JVC or Panasonic
or something?
I'm really looking forward to getting
the LITE ON Model LVW-5045.
Does Costco have it yet?
The reviews I've read are that it cuts
any competition in 1/2 pricewise.
Also has twice the hard drive than the Panasonics. -

^small review of the 5045, I guess Liteons are decent, definately cool for a dvd recording newbie such as myself. Whats the cheapest you've seen it for (in U.S. currency, do you live in the U.S.?) I remember those being very pricey, in fact I could mention the Ilo dvdrh04, I would bet its very similar, except it only has an 80GB hard drive
