hello
i have pioneer 109 burner which should be using UDMA 2 or higher
in my system all ide chanels show UDMA only>
so how to setup my pioneer to higher UDMA 2 or higher please
i use win 2000pro s4...pioneer 109 is second master

Some chipsets don't differentiate. If ALL the channels say UDMA, it's probably just fine... since your hard drives are UDMA5.

First off, make sure you have a 80 pin cable hooked up to this drive. Yes I know it didn't come with one. I own the drive too. Once you hook the proper cable up it should show UDMA Mode 4. If you have your drive hooked up to a 40 pin cable you will read no higher than Ultra DMA Mode 2. Hope that helps my friend.

Yeah but if ALL his drives just say UDMA, it could very well be that his chipset drivers aren't set up to differentiate.

As you are running Win 2000, it will only ever show you UDMA and not what mode. Only XP shows Mode 2, Mode 4 or whatever.
