I am using Dlink USB Video Capture device, is there any very good video capture device for analog camcorders to make VCD and SVCD

This is not an answer, but a question for you. I have been researching the Dlink device you speak of to determine if I should buy it, how has it worked for you? Does it capture a fairly good quality of video?

I suggest the Sony DVMC-DA2. It hooks up to a firewire card in your PC and produces execellent captures. I just picked one up for $285. Worth every penny.

the dvmc may be ok, but sony's website is still bullshit.
it doesnt' tell you at all what format the dvmc saves to your hard drive. is it another bogus sony-only format or is it standard?
this thing looks great if it does mpeg2!
