  1. Hello,

Is there a program that will convert a VOB file from a DVD (unencrypted) directly to an mpeg2 format with correct time codes?

Here is my problem. I capture some DVD video with my Toshiba stand alone DVD recorder. If I use DVd decrypter in iso mode I can extract a new vob file that contains the entire movie. Howeve, often if I open this file in Mpeg-Vcr, or VideoReDo, the time codes are messed up enough that editing is not possible unless I take the extra step of using features in those programs to write a new mpeg file from the vob output of Dvddecrypter.

So the question is can I somehow do this in one step? i.e., go from vob on the DVD directly to mpeg 2. I know I can do this with Mpeg-Vcr, but then I still must join each captured mpeg file so in the end I'm still doing the process twice! What I want is a program like DVDdecrypter that will see an entire movie and then write it directly to a single mpeg2 file. Can this be done????

    THANKS!

    You could give vob2mpg a try: https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=252033
