Joining two avi files with different frame rate

Hi Guys

First time here..... please be gentle

I am trying to join two avi files with VirtualDub but it won't go through with the action as one file has 25 Fps and the other 23.somthing Fps.

I know that you can change the frame rate with VirtualDub but was wondering if, rather than fumbling in the dark, can anyone point out a good guide to help with this?
