I been using DVD LAB for a while now...but everytime i compiled a movie, the subtitle quality turns out really poor.... is it because of the software?? or is it because of the quality of my video stream

Subs aren't affected by video quality. Never tried DVD-Lab for subs, but from use if IfoEdit and DVDAuthorGUI, I've noticed that you get nowhere near commercial quality. Home grown subs tend to be much more blocky and less antialiased.
