I compiled my project, when played in Power DVD everything is fine.
Put it in my standalone DVD player audio doesn't play.
I used mp2 file.Tried to convert to AC3 in ffmpegGUI but strange think happened after clicking Convert, nothing had been convert.Don't know why.
Anyway left it as mp2 but audio doesn't play.

have you tried changed the audio settings in your dvdplayer? usually under audio and to output mp2 as pcm audio.

you can also try convert to ac3 with belight or besweet.

ffmpegGUI works fine. Are you missing something? Like the output filename?

  4. In ffmpeggui, always use the browse button, give your file a name that ends in .ac3 and then click OK, then Convert.

Not all NTSC players will play mpeg audio. Not all amps will either. If you are playing through an amp, make sure your player sends out a PCM stream for mpeg audio.

  7. Where did you get the original mp2 file?
I would load it into virtualdubmod, select streams, stream list. Right click the audio stream, select full processing, then Save .wav.
Load that .wav into ffmpeggui and transcode.

agree with guns1inger -- could just be that your dvd player isn't playing the mpeg audio. is it an NTSC disc, or are you going through an amp?
