  1. Hi, I have been using TMPGEnc DVD Author for creating DVD.

I just notice one thing. I have been recently trying to create menu for a convert DVD. In the menu, there are only names of the track.. no picture of the track.. text only.

After making it, I try to go throught the list through up-down button (tried on both computer and on an actual DVD player).. However, the order does not go in sequence.

For example, when i am in track 1, trying to go down, it goes as 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 9, 10.. In some menu, when i go back up.. it goes back in sequence..

However, in other menu.. a worse situation.. there is a track that no mater what up or down i do, i can never get to it.

Is there any reason for it? anyone notice the same problem? What can I do to make sure it goes in the sequence I want? after all, my menu is a simple, one, just Text menu.. in 1 column only, i just want an Up or down action can travel through the list in order.

    Thanks very much

  3. i have seen this problem for sure. its not %100 but i have found that placement of the chapter/track names can have an affect on this issue.

i have never had this issue when i have NOT moved the names, but when i do move the names sometimes if i am not careful i get this issue.

the placement seems to be critical rather than the actual order. i have a few discs that skip chapters in the menu like you describe. a few i have gone back and fixed, and i find that careful alignment of the names is important. often times i will make a careful diagonal listing rather than straight down. i find that straight across also causes problems.

my most succesful menus are those with the slight diagonal listing. you may have another experience however. it IS a problem.

This is a flaw of the software. It has nav errors. Nothing can be done, except to use better software. This has existed since the addition of template creation and editing was made in v1.5 or whenever it was.

    TDA sucks for do-it-yourself menus.
