    Hi guys,

I author my own DVDs and would like to test my menus before burning. What is the best tool to test to see if my buttons line up right, and my menus go to the right places before I actually burn to a DVD? A free tool would be great.

I do not know of a tool that does what you want, which does not mean that there isn't one. What works best for me is to burn my project to an RW and view it on the TV or whatever I intend to view it on. I know this seems time consuming but in the end you will always know exactly what your creation looks like.

I have re-used RWs many many times with no problems. Over time you will get a good feel for what works and what does not and you will not need to pre-burn an RW as often.

Make an ISO, mount it with a virtual drive (e.g., Daemon Tools or Nero ImageDrive) and play on a software DVD player (e.g., WinDVD or PowerDVD).

    Hello,

Windvd and powerdvd can play the vobs directly without a need for an iso mount. Just choose play dvd on harddrive or dvd on computer mode - terminology may be different. Then select the video_ts folder and it will load it exactly as if it were a physical disc, no iso needed.
