I'm looking for freeware to just plain play my CDs and mp3s on my computer and manage my music library. It doesn't have to rip, burn, or play videoclips, cuz there're better apps for that. 8)

no need to say i hate WMP.

    So far I have tried:

    - musicmatch jukebox and realone: annoying popups inviting to upgrade or open this or that link, and they still duplicate functions that I get with other apps
    - good old winamp: great as always but doesn't save my music library...
    - sonique: pretty good, but plays CDs only by double-clicking track by track in the CD directory, only shows current song, not entire library, thus making editing music library virtually impossible.

As usual, any advice on different apps/plugins that i could try are more than welcome.

    cheers

  3. iTunes is very very good software for windows and mac. You can use it in linux too via crossover office. I would also recommend AmaroK for Linux.

    thats true guys,

I forgot to mention. iTunes is also very good, but it creates folders and subfolders where it's practically supposed to move your entire music library... And if I pull up task manager, there are at least two processes (iPod service and iTunes helper, I think they're called) always running in the background... Not sure thats good when u r multitasking...

    Whats ur experience?
