I dont think there is a hack, So you would need to buy one of those to remove MV. Or try running through your camcorder that may work. Maybe another VCR would do it.

"the tapes i have are not the official releases only copies. "
My vcr (some are immune to MV) can copy a commercial vhs film without macro being detected BUT it still puts the macrovision onto the copy. Thats what you got. -
i see...cause i just e-mailed the people where i got my tapes and they said they have been able to make copies without a prob but the official tapes from japan don't have macro. so whats my dvdreocorder detectin? and how can i dub to my hdd?

You need to read this:

You are looking for an "easy way" that simply does not exist. Three choices:
1) Buy TBC or clarifier
2) Quit trying to record these tapes.
3) Buy another DVD recorder that CAN be hacked.Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)

Sima CT-1 or CT-2 sells for around $60-$70 will do it too. Try the camcorder pass through method also.

I had a tape that had Macro in it. It copied vcr to vcr but wouldn't from vcr to dvd recorder for some reason. I created a copy of it thinking it would get rid of the macro but it didn't. The copy (like the original) copied vcr to vcr but not vcr to dvd recorder. It must have put a protection on to the copy somehow. I tried everything I could think of including using a vcr that was macro free and it still didn't work with the dvd recorder. They must make them extra tough or extra sensitive so that if it picks up anything weird (even just a bloop in a tape or static from a station it thinks it's copy written and doensn't tape. Anyway, the only way I could get around it after a year of trying was to go out and get the Sima CT-2 converter.
I also see Lordsmurf's and bnbhoha's choices to really be the best or only ones.
If you e-mailed those people and they say they can dub the videos with no problem maybe you should write them again and ask them exactly what machines are they using and how are they doing it?
