after much deliberation, i finally decided this was the proper forum for these questions.
    i hope i was right!

Where can I find filters for VirtualDub? I am specifically looking for the "Static Noise Reduction" filter by Steve Don, but there are many other I would like as well.

I have read that TMPGEnc will open/convert almost any type of a/v file as long as you have the proper filters/plug-ins. Where can I find filters/plug-ins for TMPGEnc??

Thanks in advance for helping this n00b!!

    Hello,

    https://www.videohelp.com/tools?s=29#29

There's a couple of filters for virtualdub found in the tools section on the left of the screen

As always a yahoo or google search will likely get you the other harder to find plugins.

the problem with the google search is that I don't know the names of the plug-ins for TMPGEnc, and typing "TMPGEnc plug-ins" really doesn't yield worthwhile results
is there a list of GOOD, WORKING plug-ins for TMPGEnc somewhere?
i'll fix the sig pic today...

  4. TmpGenc does not have lots of plug ins. There is a Quick Time reader plugin and an mpeg-2 plugin (again for reading) but I can't think of any others at the mo. Both those are in the tools section.

Don't think TMPGEnc has any plugins. The quicktime reader and MPEG2 plugins are VFAPI plugins and are not specific to TMPGEnc.
