I created a DVD using DVD Workshop 2.0, and burned it with Nero 6.6.0.6. I burned onto both Maxell and Memorex DVD-R disks. On the Memorex disks, everything works fine. On the Maxell disks, the last chapter will not play from a menu. When you click on the menu button, the disk just keeps spinning in my standalone DVD player. However, if you use the "Next Chapter" arrow keys on the player/remote, the last chapter plays just fine.
Both Memorex and Maxell disks work without problems on my PC's DVD drive. Additionally, I've copied some DVD's onto the same Maxell disks from the same batch, using the same version of Nero, and they work fine.
I am guessing this is just some sort of odd compatibility problem with the Maxell disks and my standalone DVD player. Not sure why the last chapter would play using the arrow / next chapter button on the player/remote, but not from the DVD menu...and why doing a DVD copy does not have any problems either.
I've tried using a slower burning speed on the Maxell disks, but that did not work.
Anyone have any ideas on all of this?

Hello,
Yeah probably a faulty disc. I've had it where a disc will work in one player but not another but always on the pc. Did a disc copy and worked perfectly.
It's probably just a bad disc that slipped through quality control
