    Would someone gimme a full list of codecs i need please i heard huffyuv is quite good.

    Just a long list of what you have and you're impressed with..

    Only install codecs as you need them, what to install depends on your needs.

    The huffy codec is a good codec for capturing from analog sources, it produces a high quality video with a fairly low file size compared to uncompressed AVI. Due to it's enormous size compared to MPEG it's only useful for making source files.

    ive had klite codec pack on here for ages now, would uninstalling it uninstall everything t do with it??

    No. And if it's not causing problems, I'd leave it in place or use something like codec sniper to remove things.

    How come when watching a movie on my Dads pc with no codecs theres still lines on it only on mpg though..

  7. maybe you have an interlaced MPG file. The monitor will display a progressive signal and you will often see lines in the picture when playing an interlaced signal on it. Every DVD I play in Power DVD looks like crap compared to on a television.
