    Does anyone have a link or some info on how to set up a file server on my own PC? All I want is for my friends to be able to easily log in and upload files easily.

    How do I go about this?

    Get a ftp server such as serv-u or a freeware one and set it up and make accounts for your friends and have your friends install a ftp program like cuteftp or a free one and they login to your server via the ftp program.

    I should have mentioned that the people I want to access the server are also family who are barely computer literate. They wont know how to set up cuteftp or something like that.

    Can I just use Internet Explorer and send them a link to access everything in a click or two?

    Yes... just use a URL like this in IE:

    ftp://username@your.ip.address.or.url/
    Then it'll pop up a window asking for the password.
