I high speed dubbed a movie last week and everything went perfect, but this week I went to dub another movie and after about 1 min it will say bye and shut off and then say self check and turn itself back on and say hit enter because an error occured. I tried 4 times with a different disc but same brand and same thing happened. I used the exact same brand that I did for the first movie that dubbed perfectly.

the only thing that is different from last week is that I had it set up with cable but no box and this week I have a cable box for the week ( my dad is a cable tech and is on call ) and I didnt change the setting to cable with cable box because I didnt need the guide to show the new channels, everything records great, I now record on channel 3 and put the box on the channel instead of putting the dvd on the channel i want.
would this have any thing to do with my error? -
I think it was the disc that I put in because I tried it again but in normal dubbing and it worked great and then tried it in high speed and it went great, so I think that it was that disc.
Anyway no need to respond it is working now. -
What media are you using? try some panasonic disks next time just for testing.
