For those that want to try cutting edge burning without cutting prices.

I was at my local Wal Mart this morning looking for some other clearance items when I came across these. Marked as $10 and then I verified at the price checker for that price. My local store had 4 boxes of 3 discs and I snagged one box. I really have no idea what the cheapest online price for DL media is right now, but I am fairly certain it isn't as low as $3.33. So check your local Wally World and maybe you can score some trial discs until prices come down a little more.

    PS
I am in Lansing, MI for those who are wondering where I picked them up.

damn just went to my local walmart and the 3pk for the verbatim DVD+R DL were $28.99, actually one of the more expensive prices I've seen. You got lucky I think, priced wrong. should have bought all 4 boxes at those prices.....

They definately were not priced wrong. All of them had the same price and the person pricing had to change it to that price when they moved them into the clearance section. That was why I put Your Mileage May Vary. I would just keep checking out the clearance section of Wal Mart and actually taking these to the price checker every once and a while because I have seen the price change, but not be reflected on the tag.

I just was at my local Walmart and those DVD+R DUAL LAYER were $32.00. Lucky you got it cheap and it probably was priced incorrectly.

I may go back for the rest/check other stores, but at $10 that is still a hefty price for 3 discs. Now I need to figure out what is worthy enough to go on the three I do have.

$3.33 each ... I'd buy a dozen or two, no problems.

where the hell are the clearance sections?

I just looked in the normal media section, maybe that's where I went wrong. Where could I find the clearance area?

They are in different spots depending on the layout of the store. Two of my local stores have a row for clearance next to the seasonal row. Another one has it just before housewares. Look around for shelves with yellow price flags and red stickers that say clearance. If you find some outside of the clearance area and they are on clearance, they will ring up on the price checker at the reduced price, even though they don't have the clearance sticker. I have seen this several times that they don't collect all of the product and move it to the clearance section. The moral is, don't always go by the sticker, scan it to make sure.
